Auslan mentoring sessions are designed for students learning Auslan who want supportive, practical practice with a Deaf mentor. Each session gives students the opportunity to build confidence through real conversation with a Deaf person while developing signing skills, facial expression and non-manual features, depicting signs, Auslan structure, and grammar.
Sessions can include role shifts, storytelling, assessment preparation, receptive practice using recorded Auslan stories on video, fingerspelling practice, and number practice. Lessons are tailored to the student’s current level, goals, and areas they would like to strengthen.
One-hour sessions are available once or twice weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. NDIS options are available.
Access to videos is available.
