Who I am
Artist Bio
Rachel Catherine Horton Stock is a Deaf artist whose creative practice is shaped by visual storytelling, detail, colour, and connection. She originally started her business as an architectural draftsperson, bringing a strong eye for structure, linework, and composition into her work. When COVID hit in 2019, Rachel shifted her alignment toward art, turning her creative focus into a more expressive and personal practice.
Working across mixed media, Rachel primarily uses watercolour, acrylic applied with a watercolour approach, fine penwork, coloured pencils, and other mediums to create expressive and layered artworks. Her work reflects a love of handmade creativity, thoughtful design, and accessible artistic expression.
In 2025, Rachel was a judge for Deaf Children Australia’s worldwide Art Competition and has also held an art exhibition presented by Level Up in Wyndham City Council. Alongside selling original and custom artwork, she teaches art classes for people seeking a creative escape from stress and anxiety, and provides Auslan tutoring and mentoring for students.
Rachel will also be sharing her work at upcoming stalls, including the Werribee Craft Festival in November and Heide Artist Markets during the warmer months.
